This sleek looking bike has side panels on manipulators that act as spoilers, assist during tight turns and drifting, and as a rest. Its polished form disguises its surprisingly durable nature, and its front is dominated by an array of eight red eyes about a single bright light.

The Sciencia company was known to draw inspiration from nature for their designs, such as canines, birds, and even dinosaurs. However they sometimes also borrowed from pre-existing constructs. Such was the case with the Accel and their progenitor the warforged cycle. Unlike the warforged cycle the Accel is stripped of unnecessary things such as true sapience or guns, focusing entirely on speed, maneuverability, and user functionality including self-righting gyros and the ability for the motorcycle to manipulate its surroundings thanks to its multipurpose servo arms. They are sold commercially with reduced natural armor plating and for military use for skirmish warfare.

Accels can be outfitted with any energy source from a traditional gas engine to futuristic energy cores. The nitrous is self-regenerating but of limited use, and is considered a risky mode of transportation whose rapid motions is largely performed by the AI itself, sometimes to the risk of its user. It otherwise contains a bluetooth radio and USB player, and a containment storage at the back.

Accels are the size of normal motorcycles, about 6 ft long, 4 ft high, and 500 lbs. Accels do not normally speak, but do beep and make alert noises in addition to a holographic HUD projected in front of it.

Combat[edit]

Accels driven into combat usually have the task of moving its host quickly and rapidly. Traditionally they are not designed to fight on their own. Accels which do gain combat programming gain Spring Attack as a bonus feat.

Cruising Speed (Ex): On a relatively smooth flat surface such as a road, the Accel's overland speed is doubled from 58 mph (a full run in a straight line) to 113 mph. Though it cannot be kept up for overland travel, with nitrous mode it can briefly jump up to 170 mph.

Evasive Actions (Ex): The Accel can choose to employ evasive actions at the start of its turn as a non-action. If it does, it (and any rider it bears) takes a -5 penalty on attack rolls and actions which require concentration are impossible. Speed is cut in half for the round. In return it and its rider gain evasion, and a +5 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves for the turn. The rider must make a DC 10 Ride check to avoid falling off during evasive actions, dropping them at the end of their movement.

Power Flash (Ex): Once every 5 rounds as a standard action, the Accel can project a 30 ft cone of blinding light which blinds the target for 1 round on a failed DC 16 Fortitude save, or dazzled on a successful save for 1 round. Those beyond 30 ft but within 60 ft must save against dazzling for 1 round, save negates. The save DC is Wisdom based.

Gyroscopic Stability (Ex): The Accel can right itself as a free action if it falls prone (though if it falls prone, any rider is likely dismounted). It gains a +8 racial bonus on Balance and Tumble checks.

Nitrous Mode (Ex): The Accel can enter nitrous mode as a free action, a dangerous function which requires any riders to make Ride checks as if riding an animal, as they are no longer in direct control of the bike. It can be guided using the Ride skill and normal. In this mode it and its rider gain evasion, have a 50% miss chance when moving 50 ft or more, and doubles its speed. In return it gains a maneuverability to its land speed of clumsy, as if it were a flight speed. Any charge attacks in this mode gain a +4 attack bonus (and -4 AC penalty). As it uses a regenerating but limited energy source for this activity it may be used for up to 10 rounds each day. The duration of the effect need not be consecutive rounds.

If used while cruising, the doubled speed becomes a tripling.

Powerful Build (Ex): The physical stature of the Accel lets them function in many ways as if they were one size category larger. Whenever a Accel is subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for an opposed check (such as during grapple checks, bull rush attempts, and trip attempts), the Accel is treated as one size larger if doing so is advantageous to him. A Accel is also considered to be one size larger when determining whether a creature’s special attacks based on size (such as improved grab or swallow whole) can affect it, as well as the creatures capable of riding it (thus the Accel can hold a medium rider just fine). A Accel can use weapons designed for a creature one size larger without penalty (if it has hands). However, its space and reach remain those of a creature of its actual size. The benefits of this racial trait stack with the effects of powers, abilities, and spells that change the subject’s size category.

Programming: The Accel possesses the following programs: Collect, Job Function (Driver), Identify Creature, Identify Object, Reposition, Search, and Self-Preservation.

Storage (Ex): The Accel contains its own military backpack, which may be improved on its own.

Construction[edit]

Accel XLV-5 Autocycles are build out of a composite of many different metals, plastics, and alloys which must be processed in a factory. In addition its computer core requires special components and programming. The cost of the base material components are worth 1600 gp.

Assembling the body requires a DC 21 Craft (technology) check, a DC 21 Knowledge Engineering, or a DC 21 Knowledge Xeno check.

CL 8th; Craft Construct, daylight, haste, lesser geas; Price 16,000 gp; Cost 7,200 gp + 576 XP.
