Astral Shudder[edit]

The means of infection are ill understood, but it seems to be the effect of rapid teleportation or plane shifting through the astral, especially in unusual or abnormal curcumstances or by extended exposure to stormy conditions within the astral plane and by warp gates in and out of the plane. Once infected those suffering from the disease begin to show signs that the plane they reside on is rejecting their presence, resulting in "reality glitching" which is as painful as it looks when body parts scramble and thought briefly freezes and siezures.

Astral Shudder
Infection: Contact (via exposure)
DC: 20
Incubation : 1 hour
Damage : Fail chance (starting at 5%) and 1d6 damage.
Effect: Those infected face a 5% failure chance on all strenous actions (anything that Diehard would damage you for). If affected, the action fails and the victim takes 1d6 points of damage from the disruption. Each time they fail the saving throw against disease once each day, the failure chance and damage increase by 5% and +1d6 damage to a maximum of 100% and 20d6 damage. While suffering from this disease they are always treated as Extraplanar with their home plane as the Astral Plane. Symptoms are suppressed while on the Astral Plane, but disease progression continues as normal in spite of the timeless nature of the plane. Those that die while afflicted "scramble", with body parts gone mismatched or missing, teleported to parts unknown.
Curing: As a magical disease it cannot be cured naturally. Remove disease resets the failure chance to 5% again, but remove curse when it is at 5% is required to remove the effect.

Price: Typically cannot be created, but market cost of 1000 gp.
