This friendly small yellow duck is willing to take you over this small pit. You have no idea how it is able to lift you.
Technically an item in the same vein as figurines of wondrous power, this oddity actually keeps itself in animate form and only adopts statue form when sleeping or "dead", at which point it becomes a figurine carved from granite. It takes the form of any small bird, often a duck, parrot, quail, or sparrow, and behaves as a docile version of the animal when awake. It is willing and able to stand on the shoulder of most creatures without falling off. It never flies on its own.
When commanded, the bird will grab hold of a willing creature and lift them, carrying them from their current position to a destination you set with your command. In spite of its small size it is able to lift up to 1000 lbs as if it weighed nothing, and flies at a speed of 10 ft (perfect) each round. This slow, shaky, but inevitable fly speed gets the target to the destination where it awaits its next command from its owner.
1/day as an immediate action, it can immediately fly up to 100 ft and catch a falling creature, keeping a hold on them until they land safely at the destination of your choosing.
Creatures can wrest themselves free from the bird as a move action with no check, but subsequently fall. The bird continues to its intended destination until commanded otherwise. The bird can go anywhere within line of sight, or anywhere that is obvious or otherwise able to be shown with high accuracy.
It's default statistics are that of a raven or other appropriate bird. If it runs out of hp it returns to statue form and cannot be reanimated for 1 week. In statue form it has hardness 8 and 50 hp. It can remain in animated form an unlimited amount of time, but does need to breathe and sleep like a normal creature and will do so on its own violation.
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, fly.
