This spell is used to mark a target creature as being of a specific alignment (along both the good-evil and lawful-chaotic axes if you wish), as designated by you at the time of casting. The target is burned upon completion of the casting, taking 1 point of divine (treat as untyped) damage as holy (or unholy) flames sear the brand onto their body. This damage may only be restored through natural healing, and this spell’s effects last until this damage is healed or the target is dead or destroyed. If the creature affected is not capable of natural healing, this spell goes away in the same amount of time it would take if they were able to naturally heal the damage dealt.
While under the effect of this spell, the target is treated by all alignment-dependent effects (positive or negative) as a member of the alignment dictated by the brand regardless of their actual alignment. They take additional damage from (or are affected differently by) spell effects, activated magic item effects, and weapon and armor enhancements accordingly. This spell assumes the descriptors of whatever alignment the caster wills the subject to assume.
