Brittlebone Powder[edit]

Formed from the crushed bones of undead ground up by a poisoned mace, brittlebone powder can be delivered through inhalation or ingestion. It is a white flaky powder which may be disguised as course table salt. Brittlebone powder victims are unique in that the secondary effect does not come into play until the correct circumstances, rather than 1 minute later. Until then, the only symptom is a mild soreness in the muscles surrounding major bones.

Those affected have a -8 penalty on AC for the purposes of confirming critical threats against them. This penalty lasts for 24 hours or until the victim gets 8 hours of rest. If a confirmed critical hit is made on the victim, the secondary effect kicks in, invoking penalties similar to being hit by caltrops. The penalty to movement is healed with a DC 20 Heal check, or being restored to full health. A neutralize poison, regenerate or heal removes both effects.

Type: Inhalation DC 14, or Ingestion DC 16
Initial Effect: -8 penalty on AC for the purpose of confirming critical threats for 24 hours.
Secondary Effect: Movement reduced by half.
Price: 75 gp
