5e Spell Decay
1st-level necromancy
Casting Time: Action
Range: 90 ft
Components: V, S
Duration: Concentration, Up to 5 rounds
Casters: Cleric, Warlock

A black spot appears upon your target, the smell of rot and decay spreading with an expanding ring of necrosis from the vile cursemark.

You place a curse on a creature that you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or they take 1d6 necrotic damage. Then the target takes half of 1d6 at the end of their turn each round. If the creature perishes while this effect is active you may choose to have the corpse rapidly rot away into debris, unsuitable for effects which require an intact body. A successful save only deals the initial full damage.

If the target drops to 0 hit points before this spell ends, you can use a bonus action on a subsequent turn of yours to curse a new creature with a new saving throw. The duration is reset for the new creature.

A Remove Curse cast on the target ends this spell early.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level and every level beyond, you deal an additional 1d6 damage each round, and half of this amount at the end of their turn (maximum 9d6 at 9th level).
