Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the desert initiate.

Spellcasting: At each level, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in a spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one divine spellcasting class before becoming a desert initiate, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

Burning Sand (Su): A 1st level desert initiate can make her spells with the [fire] descriptor deal half slashing damage instead of it normal type. This slashing damage count as being fire damage for the purpose of dealing extra damage to vulnerable creature and interacting with feats and abilities when beneficial.

Desert Familiar: A 1st level level desert initiate gain a cat or a snake familiar as a wizard of her level. Alternatively she may replace take another appropriated familiar at the DM's discretion. If she already had a familiar she gain a +4 bonus to determine the power of her desert familiar or she may instead count her Desert Initiate level as level in the appropriated class to determine the power of her other familiar.

Heat Resistance (Ex): A 1st level desert initiate is constantly under the effect of greater endure elements (heat only) and gain resistance to fire and light damage equal to 3x her class level.

Desert Spells : A 2nd level desert initiate add the following spells to her spell list, if she is spontaneous caster she instead add them to her spell known list.

1st— quickwind shield, summon desert ally ISa

2nd— control sandSa, summon desert ally IISa

3rd— gale force, sandformSa, solar bolt, solar flare, summon desert ally IIISa, twister rush

4th— mass twister rush, summon desert ally IVSa,wall of sand

5th— chain solar bolt, flesh to saltSa, solar window, summon desert ally VSa, transmute sand to stoneSa, transmute stone to sandSa, vacuum sphere

Static Shock (Su): As long as a 3rd level desert innate wear gold jewelry and is in a desert she can cause any creature who touch her directly or hit her with a melee weapon to take 1d6 electricity damage per two character levels and make a fortitude save (DC 10 +1/2 HD + her charisma modifier) or be stunned for 1 round. Using this ability is a free action usable outside of your turn. After being used this ability cannot be used for 1d4+1 rounds.

Desert Ally: A 4th level a desert initiate gain Superior Familiar as a bonus feat, even if she does not meet the prerequisites.

Heat Immunity (Su): A 5th level level desert initiate become immune to fire and light damage.

Mystical Expanse (Su): A 5th level desert initiate has all her spells enlarged and widened with no modification to her casting time or spell level when she cast outside. If she cast outside in a desert her caster level increase by 2.
