When the necromancer begged for mercy, the cleric was forced to accept it. Unfortunately, no one had any manacles. Fortunately, the wizard had this prepared for unrelated reasons. No one wanted to ask her why.
You create a thread that binds the target. They perceive it as a sturdy set of chains and manacles. On a failed Will save, the touched creature (and only the touched creature) treats this as chains (hardness 10, 5 hit points, break DC 26). All other creatures (includuing creatures who passed their Will save or who successfully resisted with Spell Resistance) perceive this appropriately as a gossamer thread (hardness 5 bypassed by slashing, 1 hit point, break DC 5). This thread can be sundered as normal or removed without a check as a full round action by anyone with a free hand. You cannot remove this spell from yourself. If you have multiple sets of hands (such as a thri-kreen), all of them are bound by a single casting of this spell.
