The hyperdimensional destrachan was difficult to combat indeed.

Hyperdimensional[edit]

Creatures removed from time and space, hyperdimensional beings appear as strange and often geometric anomalies in the universe. They are capable of several extraordinary magical abilities showing their ability to bend space and time and produce spooky action at a distance.

Creatures rarely obtain the hyperdimensional template, it is often the realm of already hyperdimensional creatures which exist beyond the normal scope of the universe. By some strange circumstance, these alien entities are able to interact with our own dimension by passing themselves through our membrane.

Creating a Hyperdimensional Creature[edit]

This template is an inherited template, though in some strange circumstance it may be acquired by unusual means. It can apply to any creature, for the template is not a matter of genetics, only perspective.

Size and Type[edit]

The hyperdimensional creature always has the Extradimensional subtype, but the dimension it calls home applies to no known dimension or plane in existence. If banished, it may be capable of coming back after a 1d4 round cooldown (see Bend Space).

Speed[edit]

A hyperdimensional creature doesn't gain any speed bonuses or movement modes, but can treat any environment as its ideal environment for the purposes of movement. This allows a hyperdimensional creature to fly in water, walk in mid-air, and burrow or swim through through the air.

Special Attacks[edit]

Bend Space (Ex): A hyperdimensional creature can bend space as easily as walking. As a result, it ignores all difficult terrain and effects which reduce its movement (including magical effects like solid fog) and never provokes attacks of opportunity for movement as it seems to flicker and teleport around. If ever banished it can even return to the universe just by moving, arriving in 1d4 rounds to its previous location.

When the hyperdimensional creature gains 8 HD, it is able to teleport (self only) at will. At 10 HD it can plane shift (self only) at will. At 12 HD it obtains greater teleport (self only) at will and at 14 HD it obtains greater plane shiftSpC (self only) at will. In spite of mimicking spells, this effects are extraordinary. An antimagic field has no effect at stopping these abilities, but an effect which prevents teleportation (such as dimensional anchor still functions.

Non-Euclidean Reach (Ex): The reach of the hyperdimensional creature is deceptive, as it is able to reach its limbs places which seem far away. It can make melee attacks up to 5 ft away per HD further than it can normally reach. It does not threaten this area, but otherwise nothing, not even total cover, can stop its reach.

Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): A hyperdimensional gains a number of spell-like abilities based on their HD. Spell-like abilities may be used 1/day unless noted otherwise, and the DC is based on the creature's highest mental ability score.

HD Abilities
1–2 3/day—benign transpositionSpC; 1/day—true strike
3–4 1/day—blindness/deafness, shield other
5–6 1/day—nondetection, ray of dizzinessSpC
7–8 1/day—confusion, shrink item
9–10 1/day—commune, telekinesis
11–12 1/day—banishment
13–14 1/day—reverse gravity
15–16 1/day—moment of prescience
17–18 1/day—time stop
19–20 1/day—limited wish

Special Qualities[edit]

Extradimensional Perspective (Ex): The hyperdimensional creature literally has a perspective above others, viewing the scene as if from an observer just above and outside the world. They can see an area in a 120 ft radius around them, even in places which otherwise have total cover. This is not blindsight, as it runs off their normal visual senses, just a change in perspective.

Immunities (Ex): A hyperdimensional creature is immune to blindness, confusion effects, critical hits, dazzling, death effects, petrification, and polymorphing.

Positional Uncertainty (Ex): The exact position of the hyperdimensional creature is never certain. It gains a 50% miss chance against all effects, even magic, though positive energy, negative energy, force effects, and ghost touch weapons affect it normally. In addition, all of its attacks are considered ghost touch weapons.

Feats[edit]

A hyperdimensional creature gains Why Won't You Die as a bonus feat. It's very existence defies logic, warping the flow of the universe as it sees fit.
