A grim looking deadwood mask which covers the top half of a creatures face. When donned, the creatures eyes seem eternally in shadow and their mouth seems somehow more sinister, with sharper canines. The whole mask smells faintly of blood and is always slightly damp.
Said to have been carved from a cursed tree which drank blood, this deadwood mask places the user under continuous effect of deathwatch. 1/day as a standard action the mask can grant its user scent, but it only applies to blood (dried blood cuts detection ranges in half), lasting up to 1 hour. In addition attacks with a bite (regardless if its an unarmed strike with the teeth or a bite attack) gain a +2 bonus on damage.
You can access a few spell-like abilities through the mask, but only by wounding yourself as part of casting. Damage dealt to yourself cannot be reduced. It uses your character level as its caster level for these effects.
- 1/day- cure moderate wounds (costs 20 hp). Cannot be used on yourself.
- 1/day- remove disease (costs 30 hp)
- 1/day- neutralize poison (costs 40 hp)
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, cure moderate wounds, deathwatch, neutralize poison, remove disease.
Cost to Create: 2000 gp, 160 EXP, 4 days.
