Most constructs are immune to the effects of positive and negative energy. It is a boon and a bane, rendering them immune to a dangerous type of energy while making them difficult to heal. However when a lifeforge heart is applied, the construct gains some life-like traits.
The lifeforge heart is an organic round organ appearing much like a multichambered heart with anywhere from two to dozens of chambers, and tubes sticking every which way out of it. When applied in the chest cavity of a construct its tubes hook up to various mechanical bits and fuse seemlessly, becoming part of the creature and coming alive with its own beat. Constructs with the graft now gain 1/2 benefit from positive energy healing spells, and also take 1/2 damage from negative energy. If the creature already gains 1/2 healing from positive energy healing spells (such as the case with most living constructs) they instead gain full benefit from healing spells, and retain their full damage from negative energy.
An extra strength form of the graft can be applied for twice the cost. It renders the construct able to benefit from the full effect of positive energy healing spells, and they take full damage from negative energy. Other traits and immunities are not altered beyond the ability to be healed or take damage from the two energy types.
