There is a loud roar of rotor blades. Over the edge of the building rose a helicopter, machine gun primed.

The Luna-Tesla Corporation ultimately was a military company, and one of their works of art was automatizing heavy weapon platforms such as helicopters. Built with a minigun slung underneath its nose and rocket pods under its wings, and a sliding door on the side for passengers to shoot or jump out the side. The back end is a ducted fan for the safety of jumpers.

The Longbow-64 autonomous attack chopper is equipped with a thorium micro-reactor to stay in the air for long periods of time. They are equipped with communication methods for soldiers to shout command to their AI allies.

Combat[edit]

The autonomous attack chopper is not exactly quiet, but in the roar of battle it can "hide" by moving behind hills and buildings using its perfect maneuverability.

Crew (Ex): The autonomous attack chopper has room for a crew of one medium creature, if piloted manually, and five additional creatures as co-pilot and passengers. The pilot can assume control of the weapons, allowing it to fire while moving by using its pilot's actions to attack. Starting and running it requires a DC 20 Knowledge Xeno or Pilot check.

Downdraft (Ex): The autonomous attack chopper produces a great deal of wind from its rotor blades. Whenever it is within 20 ft of the ground, it blows wind out in all directions with it in the center as per gust of wind, out to a range of 40 ft. If there is sand or grit on the ground it may be thrown up, providing concealment in a 40 ft radius 20 ft high.

Loud (Ex): The autonomous attack chopper is very loud. Creatures get a +20 bonus on Listen checks against it.

Minigun (Ex): The autonomous attack chopper is equipped with a large steambolt minigun. The Reflex save is DC 18. It does not take any penalties to its speed while firing the minigun, and it only needs a swift action to retain spinning the barrel. It still takes a move action to spin the barrel initially. The autonomous attack chopper has no reach and cannot make attacks of opportunity, but in return it does not provoke attacks of opportunity for firing ranged weapons.

Programming: The autonomous attack chopper possesses the following programs: Attack, Calculate, Communication, Identify Creature, Identify Object, Protect, Reposition, Search, Self-Preservation.

Rockets (Ex): The autonomous attack chopper can fire a swarm of exploding micro-rockets. It effectively has fireball at will with a 1 round cooldown and a caster level equal to its CR. DC 25 Reflex save, the saving throw is Wisdom based.

Construction[edit]

Longbow-64 Autonomous Attack Choppers are build out of a composite of many different metals, plastics, and alloys which must be processed in a factory. In addition its computer core requires special components and programming. The cost of the base material components are worth 16,000 gp.

Assembling the body requires a DC 30 Craft (technology) check, a DC 30 Knowledge Engineering, or a DC 30 Knowledge Xeno check.

CL 17th; Craft Construct, control winds, fly, lesser geas; Price 160,000 gp; Cost 72,000 gp + 5760 XP.
