Lootbound[edit]
These monsters carry loot inside them. Wizards were probably involved.
"Why did this spider drop a zweihander?"
Creations of mad wizards, lootbound creatures are beasts of burden who carry hidden caches of treasure inside of themselves. Originally limited only to chests buried in the ribs of skeletons, mad wizards have expanded it to any created or surgically altered creature.
Creating a Lootbound[edit]
This is an acquired template which actually can be purchased. You require the Graft Flesh feat or access to the secret chest spell and 5 ranks in Heal to apply this template. During the creation or grafting of a creature, the template may be added for the cost of 1000 gp (500 gp with the appropriate crafting feat, if making it yourself).
Special Qualities[edit]
Loot Box (Ex): The creature has a hidden compartment which can open up and store or remove items. At the creator's will they can choose to have the compartment inaccessible to anyone but select individuals. Visually there is no difference in appearance between a lootbound and a non-lootbound creature until they open up their compartment, revealing the extradimensional space. The space has the same effect as a handy haversack.
If a lootbound creature dies, the content of their compartment spills forth in the nearest empty space, and the template is lost.
