The entire battlefield erupts in a cacophony of screams as a vortex of blood and miasma sprouts bloodthirsty maggots throughout the ranks of the enemy.
You conjure a large storm of seeping red miasma that infects any creature within the area with an infestation of maggots that lacerate the flesh. Everyone within the area takes 1d6 points of magical slashing damage per 2 caster levels (Reflex half).
Any creature in the area incurs the effects of the gnawing maggots spell for 1 round per caster level, no save. Creatures that somehow avoided all damage from the storm – by virtue of abilities like evasion, a shield or damage reduction – are not affected by this follow-up effect.
Material Component: A clutch of bloodied offal.
