Something like a plastic four armed starfish floated by your head with a soft whir of fans built in the tips of the arms. At the top of the star on a retractable eyestalk is a single camera.

Though the Luna-Tesla Corporation is not intended to design "consumer products", the Nixie-1080 Cam Drone ended up just that. Originally a drone for police, rescue, and other fields where autonomous photographers were required, they were rapidly co-opted for civilian use as a photographer on the go and the master of taking selfies, as the drone can fold up tightly on the arm or leg as a band when not in use thanks to its flexible plastic arms and safe bladeless dyson fans which keep it afloat. When in operation, it gives off only the soft woosh of moving ionized air.

Cam drones are about the size of a large bracelet and weigh practically nothing.

Combat

The nixie has no way of defending itself. It doesn't even have a sense of self-preservation.

Flash (Ex): The cam drone can use flash photography at will, and it can try to aim for the eyes when it does so. Treat this as an extraordinary flare spell, DC 11. The DC is Wisdom based.

Photography (Su): The cam drone can take photographs of a scene, storing up to 20 pictures at a time before it must overwrite others. These snapshots can be later printed to any piece of paper up to 5 ft by 5 ft thanks to a collection of jet spray inks it carries on the underside of the drone. Taking a picture of a scene is a standard action.

Programming: The general purpose robot possesses the following programs: Identify Creature, Identify Object, Job Function (photographer), Reposition.

Construction

Nixie-1080 Cam Drones are build out of a composite of many different metals, plastics, and alloys which must be processed in a factory. In addition its computer core requires special components and programming. The cost of the base material components are worth 75 gp.

Assembling the body requires a DC 15 Craft (technology) check, a DC 15 Knowledge Engineering, or a DC 15 Knowledge Xeno check.

CL 7th; Craft Construct, clairaudience/clairvoyance, fly, lesser geas; Price 750 gp; Cost 337 gp + 27 XP.

Familiar

Cam drones can be bound as familiars, in which case it has the alignment of its owner. It does not gain an Intelligence bonus, but instead gains +1 program plus an additional program every time it's intelligence would improve. It does not provide a skill bonus, but it does allow its master to use knowledge xeno and program skill checks untrained. If you have ranks in these skills, it then offers a +2 bonus. It still is able to "talk to its master" and may "talk to other bots" through a series of beeps.
