The steel shield has a carving of a god of protection on the front. The air seems to shimmer around you when held.
The palladium of vitality is a +10 infinite arrow deflection soulfireBoED heavy steel shield which increases the range which a creature is dying by 1/2 their maximum hp (thus a fighter with 300 hp would die at -160 hp). As an immediate action whenever a creature is dropped below 0 hp but not killed, the wielder can generate a resilient sphere around themselves, and gain fast healing 20 until they choose to dismiss the sphere or until 1 hour has past, and are cure of any ability damage, ability drain, or negative conditions except for dying or dead.
Even if the wielder is killed, the subsequent body is charged with positive energy. It can never be raised as an undead, and reviving does not cost any gold or exp.
