Shackled Power

Without your protective item, your supernatural powers begin to bleed out uncontrollably.

Prerequisite: At least 1/2 of your HD is in classes with spells or powers.

Effect: You obtain a "shackle" which takes up an item slot, but may be enhanced as any item. This item, when worn, prevents you from using your spells, powers, and similar qualifying abilities when worn. It can be disabled or enabled as a standard action which provokes attacks of opportunity allowing normal use of abilities. Whenever the item is disabled or removed, you must use a spell or power every round. You can resist this with a DC 15 Will save to let you act normally, but each time you resist in a single encounter the DC rises by 2.

Failure results in a cascade in which not only must you use a spell or power but you must use the highest spell or power available to you until you are unable. You can stop this cascade by re-enabling your shackle as a standard action, which grants you another saving throw with a +4 bonus. Other creatures can also attempt to enable your shackle (which provokes) with their own standard action, granting you another save. The DC resets after 1 minute out of stressful situations.

Benefit: Any bonus feat for which you meet the prerequisites.

Special: If your shackled item is lost or destroyed, it can be replaced for the cost of 100 gp. You cannot use your spells or powers or disengage the shackle for 8 hours as you attune to the new item automatically.
