Tactician of Legend[edit]

In history a few people can kick ass by never actually doing any kicking, tactician of legends are among those people. They are most often very skilled martial characters who utterly devastate the battlefield with their cunning, guile or sheer perception. They lead others to excellence, winning battles after after battles. They do so by supporting their allies with counsel, observations and sometime by setting up situation they can't really screw up in. Advanced tactician of legend do the same thing with their enemy, except with one crucial difference. Making them fail.

Becoming a Tactician of Legend[edit]

Tacticians of Legend are awesome to have around. They are not exactly weak themselves, but they make their allies for more solid and their enemy much more vulnerable. They have several simple abilities with many complex applications.

Skills: Bluff 8 ranks, Sense Motive 8 ranks, Knowledge (Nobility) 5 ranks
Feats: Must have at least one tactical feat.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Tactician of Legend.

The saving throws granted by the tactician of legend abilities is 10 + half the tactician's HD + the tactician's highest mental ability score modifier.

Astonishing Tactics (Ex): A Tactician of Legend may allow on of her allies to reroll one d20 roll within medium range of her as an immediate action, this is a language dependent ability. At 3rd level she may also target her opponents with Astonishing Tactics. At 5th level she may force that creature to either take the best or worse of both roll.

Command (Ex): A Tactician of Legend may replicate the effect of command as a swift action or standard action. She may only use this ability once per round. A creature who saved against ability is immune to it for 24 hours.

Martial Skill: Tactician of Legend count their full class level for determining their martial initiator level in the event that they gain martial maneuvers. In addition if they gain the Martial StudyToB feat or any other feat which grants them limited maneuver use, they obtain the Martial Expertise feat.

The Tactician of Legend counts as levels of fighter, for the purpose of pre-requisites and effects.

Majesty (Ex): A 2nd level tactician of legend allow no interference during her turn. Whenever a creature you are aware of attempt an action during your turn it must make a character level check (DC 10 +your own character level + your half tactician of legend levels rounded up) or the action fail to happen and all resources used for that action are wasted.

Manipulate Emotions (Ex): Either through rousing speeches or depressing monologues, the 2nd level Tactiocian of Legend is capable of manipulating emotions with great ease. As a full-round action the Tactician of Legend may replicate the effect of either crushing despair or good hope. This is a language-dependent ability.

Flexible Plan (Ex): When a 2nd level tactician of legend ready a standard action, she does not need to specify the condition under which she will take her readied action. At 4th level she do not need to specify the standard action she is readying.

Improved Delay (Ex): A 3rd level Tactician of Legend may delay her action in one round without compromising her Initiative in the next round.

Superior Command (Ex): A 3rd level Tactician of Legend may now her command with greater potency. Whenever she use her command ability as a standard action, she may have it replicate the effect of greater command instead.

Counter-Ambush (Ex): A 4th level Tactician of Legend is extremely hard to surprise, anytime an encounter would start with a surprise round. Each opponent participating in the surprise round must make a will save. If they fail their will save they are unable to act in the surprise round at all.

Mythical Tactician (Ex): A 5th level Tactician of Legend is pretty much on top of all other strategists and tacticians, she always act in surprise rounds and may take an additional swift or immediate action each round. Additionally she must choose one mythical tactic below.

Dazing Counter-Ambush: Creatures failing their will saving throw because of the Tactician of Legend's Counter-Ambush are also dazed for 1 round, effectively losing their first round of combat.

Master of Flanking: Whenever an opponent is subject to her astonishing tactic it is considered flanked for 3 round by all creature that attack it, even if the creature couldn't normally be flanked.

Speechless Tactician: The tactician of legend is master of letting herself understood without speaking a word. All her language-dependent ability lose that quality.

Withering Command: Creatures affected by the Tactician of Legend's command ability automatically fall under the effect of bestow curse

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Tactician of Legend[edit]

Combat: Tactician of Legend are most often martial characters, and thus are capable in melee or range. Their tactical abilities does not interfere with their previous fighting abilities. A Tactician of Legend will use her abilities to their fullest potential, often on herself if need be. The tactician of legend's fighting style wholly depend on what she was prior of taking the class.

Advancement: Tactician of Legend are typically martial characters, most of them prefer to continue the progression of their old class after finishing with Tactician of Legend.

Resources: Tactician of Legend can be seen commanding armies, or being respected members of adventurer's guild.

Tactician of Legend in the World[edit]

You never had a chance. If only your men were not so prone at failing at everything.

Tactician of Legends are rare, appearing every few generations to lead their race or nation to glorious victory. They are prime target for assassinations

NPC Reactions: Tactician of Legends are regarded like most other martial characters are. They are however skilled in the social art (most of the time at least).

Tactician of Legend Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in knowledge (Nobility) can research tactician of legend to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.
