Twistseal Iron[edit]
This alloy of iron, nitrogen, and carbon is typically used for firearms due to the ease of rifling and stability when firing shots. Though not particularly notable in appearance, it can be easily shaped while soft and when hardened, stabilizes to become resistant to friction, heat expansion, and repeated shots. This is useful for firearms, and can be adapted to use for melee weapons, armor, and shields as well. It is common for this alloy to have a appearance of twisted cables due to its forging process.
Weapons made from twistseal iron are resistant to sunder attempts, with the break DC rising by +4 and reducing incoming damage by 4 before hardness. Even abilities which ignore hardness do not ignore this reduction. If the weapon is a firearm, the reliability of the rifling increases the range increment by 25% (minimum 5 ft). Ammunition does not receive any particularly special benefits from twistseal. Shields count as weapons for this material.
Armor made from twistseal iron also gain the resistance to break DCs and reduction in damage from sundering. If the wearer is subject to any sort of "explosion", including from a fireball, kinetic shockwaves, but not merely something like an area of cold or acid, they reduce damage from the effect by 5 points for light armor, 10 for medium armor, and 15 for heavy armor. This is done after any resistances.

Twiststeel Iron has 10 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 10. It reduces any "explosive" damage by an additional 4 points before hardness.
