This iron bar cage seems like it has poor security, but the captured giant bee inside won't be leaving anytime soon.

The universal cage is just that, a cage for creatures (typically animals). Animals inside are treated as if inside ideal living quarters for their kind and suffer no ill consequences for being trapped or immobile within the cage. This even generates a bubble of water for aquatic beings placed in the cage. As long they remain in the cage they do not require food nor cleaning. They cannot leave a cage sized for them, but they are not tamed automatically. Placing your hand inside the cage, or opening the cage, of a hostile creature is ill advised.

There is no function which compels creatures to enter the cage. They are usually placed there after being captured by other means, or tricked to enter it. Cages are considered magical traps and can be disabled and opened from the inside with a DC 23 Disable Device check. This suppresses the holding effect on the cage for 10 minutes and, if not locked by other means, lets them open the cage. In addition, creatures with an Int of 3 or higher who are in the cage when it is closed get a DC 20 Will save to resist. If successful, the cage does not lock and they may attempt to escape. As such, these cages are almost exclusively used for capturing animals who do not get a save to resist.

Opening or closing a cage is a move action. Creatures can carry cages up to one size smaller than themselves with one hand. You can place a creature in a cage too large for them, but then they can make Escape Artist checks to slip out, starting at DC 20 and reducing the difficulty by 5 for each size category off you are.
