Vibric Zectron[edit]
Somewhere between rubber and glass, weapons and armor created from this substance are molded into shape. It is an unnatural substance consisting of polybutadiene alloy, iron enriched metallic glass, and either the exposure to chaotic energies or extreme temperatures. The resulting substance is a molten glass-like material that hardens into shape and forms a rough hard rubbery texture with the appearance of smoked glass, often swirled with colors from various impurities within it. These impurities are often required for its strange properties. At low impacts and energies, it acts more like rubber and at higher impacts it becomes harder and harder until it shatters like glass.
Weapons molded with vibric zectron are effective as rebounding and pushing targets, and are capable of sending powerful shocks through hard or unmoving objects. It is most effective on bludgeoning weapons, as slashing and piercing weapons have their damage reduced by one size category. However they all allow a wielder to attempt a bull rush check without provoking an attack of opportunity, and the wielder does not need to follow the target through with the bull rush. If the wielder already is making a bull rush attempt as part of another ability or if they have the Improved Bull Rush feat they can choose to move their target an additional 10 ft if you were otherwise successful.
When used on objects the impact releases a shock into the object. Vibric zectron weapons can critical hit and coup de grace objects (which always make their saving throw but will take critical damage). It also deals critical hits to constructs. If a vibric zectron weapon is sundered, it deals its critical weapon damage to the attacking weapon and then is destroyed, which may result in both weapons breaking.
Shields made of vibric zectron have an additional quality. If subject to a bull rush attempt that fails, you may immediately attempt to make a counter bull rush. Even if the enemy bull rush succeeds you reduce the amount it moves you by 10 ft (minimum 5 ft). Shields also have the weapon properties when used for shield bashing.
Armor made of vibric zectron protects against heavy impacts and redirects them outward. If struck by bludgeoning damage you can reduce and rebound the damage back to an attacker in melee, up to an amount equal to your armor bonus to AC. This effect lasts until the start of your next turn. However your AC drops by this amount until the start of your next turn as you recoil from the blow.
Vibric zectron is so costly that weapons and armor made from it are always of masterwork quality; the masterwork cost is included in the prices given below. Thus, vibric zectron weapons and ammunition have a +1 enhancement bonus on attack rolls, and the armor check penalty of vibric zectron armor is lessened by 1 compared to ordinary armor of its type.
Vibric zectron, while not strictly a metal, is partly ferrous. It is effected by abilities such as rusting grasp but takes half damage. Vibric zectron has 10 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 5. However it only takes a quarter from acid and bludgeoning damage, half from cold and fire, and full damage from piercing, slashing, and force. It is immune to electric damage.

Some people use this material to make durable bouncy objects, and when forged for these non-weapon purposes the substance is about as bouncy as a superball. Its impurities are often enhanced for color and artistic purposes.
