Wall of Plasma

A bright white sheet of ionized plasma erupted between you and the vampires. Soon, the vampires were no more.

This spell acts like wall of fire, but formed of even hotter plasma. It deals 4d6 points of fire damage to creatures within 10 feet and 2d6 points of fire damage to those past 10 feet but within 20 feet. In addition, the wall deals 4d6 fire damage +2 points of fire damage per caster level (maximum +40) to any creature passing through it. The wall deals double damage to undead creatures. Half of the fire damage from this spell ignores fire resistance and immunity, though it is still treated as fire damage for the purpose of vulnerability.

The wall is also quite opaque and bright, and creatures within 10 ft or closer of the damaging side who view the wall must make a Reflex save or go blind for as long as they are in the area and 1d4 rounds afterward, or dazzled on a successful save. Those past 10 ft but within 20 ft must save vs dazzled instead, save negates. You can avert your eyes as if it were a gaze attack, but take concealment against all targets you face. Creatures with 4 HD or less get no save against these effects.

If you evoke the wall so that it appears where creatures are, each creature takes damage as if passing through the wall. If any 5-foot length of wall takes 40 points of cold damage or more in 1 round, that length goes out. (Do not divide cold damage by 4, as normal for objects.)

Wall of plasma can be made permanent with a permanency spell. A permanent wall of plasma that is extinguished by cold damage becomes inactive for 1 minute, then reforms at normal strength.

Material Component: A large piece of phosphorus.
