You touch one item that is no bigger than a five-foot cube per caster level. This object becomes weightless (weighs 0lb) for the duration of this spell.
No other property of the object changes. If it is stuck on another object by any force other than gravity, it must still be removed normally before you can grab it.
A weightless object deals no piercing, slashing, or bludgeoning damage unless thrown.
This spell may be made permanent by the permanency spell. To use permanency in this way costs 500 XP and requires 9th caster level.
Example: A human with a Strength of 10 is trying to carry a 30lb load while wearing full plate (which weighs 50lb). This would normally be a heavy load for the human, but with a casting of weightless object, the armour weighs an effective 0lb for its duration, which would reduce the human to a light load while this is in effect. However, the armour still provides all the usual bonuses and penalties apart from its weight (such as armour check penalty, AC bonus, etc).
