Welz's Bursting Sinew

The time travelling wizard Welz brought back several mysterious spells from the future. A brutal spell, it desecrates dead bodies by converting them into explosive fragment grenades, throwing shards of bone in all directions.

This spell must be used on a mostly intact corpse or mostly intact skeleton. A corpse explodes in its square and 5 ft adjacent to it, throwing pieces of its skeleton in all directions. This deals 1d10 piercing damage per HD of the creature (maximum 5d10 at 5 HD and beyond) or your caster level if lower. Creatures in the area of effect gain a Reflex save for half damage. This also damages the corpse, rendering it unable to be raised as a skeleton or zombie, and making raise dead only 50% likely to work, as significant pieces of its body are used as ammo.
