This spell stops light from entering from outside sources in a 10-foot radius around the object touched, and radiates shadowy illumination within the radius. Creatures within the area are subject to normal limitations for shadowy illumination. Creatures with darkvision can see normally through the area. Sources of natural or magical light brought within the area illuminate it as normal.
Higher level light spells are not affected by Dark Shadows if brought within the spell's radius.
If Dark Shadows is cast on a small object that is then placed inside or under a lightproof covering, the spell’s effect is blocked until the covering is removed.
