Faithful Druid
Druids who worship nature to the point of expanding their divine repertoire at the expense of their companion and shapeshifting.
Class: Druid
Level: 1-20
Replaces: Animal Companion, Spontaneous Spellcasting, Wild Shape
Benefit: Gain the following benefits.
Clerical Casting: Add cleric spells to your spells class list. However you no longer have access to all the spells on your class spell list immediately, but instead prepare spells like a wizard or archivist including how many spells known you start with (3 + your Wisdom modifier in 1st level spells and all 0th level spells), and how many you gain on leveling up. Your spellbook is a spirit token, a small fetish that can take on many forms from an acorn, to a preserved leaf, to a particularly shiny rock. When you prepare spells, your spirit token manifests a phantasmal nature spirit whom you teach learned spells to, and who in turn lend you their magical energy to cast as you commune with them.
If your spirit token is broken (typically hardness 5 and 3 times your HD in hp), you can replace it at a cost of 100 gp per caster level. The token is merely a tool to contact your spirit, and so the knowledge of the spells known is preserved.
Like a wizard, you may add new druid or cleric spells to your spells known, either by being taught or employing the use of scrolls.
Clerical Domain: While a faithful druid does not gain domain spell slots, they may select one domain appropriate for an aspect of nature and they gain the domain power, as well as the domain spells as free spells known by their spirit token. From the SRD, suggested domains are the Air, Animal, Destruction, Earth, Fire, Healing, Plant, Sun, Travel, and Water Domains.
Spontaneous Spellcasting: Instead of spontaneously casting summon nature's ally spells, the faithful druid spontaneously may cast the spells from the domain chosen in this alternate class feature.
