Incantator[edit]

In the same family as warlock, incantators are invocation user, however they have a few key differences. Firstly they possess minor spellcasting instead of the warlock's more offensive abilities. Secondly an incantator's power are derived from her voice, her invocations and spells do not need somatic components but vocal components. Thirdly an incantator is a much poorer combatant, which they make up with their increase versatility.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Incantator.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Incantators are proficient with all simple weapon as well as one martial weapon of her choice, she is also proficient with light armor but no shield. The Incantator does not incur arcane spell failure when casting in armor since her spells do not require somatic components.

Advancement by Prestige Class
A Incantator advance both of her invocation and her spellcasting when a prestige class would advance one of them. They count their ability to use invocation and cast spells as a single 'entity' and as a result cannot use it to qualify for a mystic theurge-esque prestige class and use it to advance both.

Whenever the Incantator take a class which grant a bonus Invocation which apply to Eldricth Blast she may trade it for another Invocation of the same level. She may ignore the Eldritch Blast requirement of prestige classes (including essence and shape invocation).

Spells: An incantator casts arcane spells, which are drawn from the Sorcerer/Wizard and Cleric spell list. She can cast any spell she knows without preparing it ahead of time. To learn or cast a spell, a incantator must have a Charisma score equal to at least 10 + the spell. The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a incantator’s spell is 10 + the spell level + the incantator’s Charisma modifier.

Like other spellcasters, a incantator can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day. Her base daily spell allotment is given on Table: The Incantator . Every incantator spell has a verbal component and do not have any somatic components. In addition, she receives bonus spells per day if she has a high Charisma score. When Table: Incantator Spells Known indicates that the incantator gets 0 spells per day of a given spell level, he gains only the bonus spells he would be entitled to based on his Charisma score for that spell level.

The incantator’s selection of spells is extremely limited. A incantator begins play knowing four 0-level spells of your choice. At most new incantator levels, she gains one or more new spells, as indicated on Table: Incantator Spells Known. (Unlike spells per day, the number of spells a incantator knows is not affected by his Charisma score; the numbers on Table: Incantator Spells Known are fixed.)

Upon reaching 5th level, and at every third incantator level after that (8th, 11th, and so on), a Incantator can choose to learn a new spell in place of one she already knows. In effect, the Incantator “loses” the old spell in exchange for the new one. The new spell’s level must be the same as that of the spell being exchanged, and it must be at least two levels lower than the highest-level Incantator spell the incantator can cast. A Incantator may swap only a single spell at any given level, and must choose whether or not to swap the spell at the same time that she gains new spells known for the level.

As noted above, a incantator need not prepare her spells in advance. She can cast any spell she knows at any time, assuming she has not yet used up his allotment of spells per day for the spell’s level.

An Incantator count as a warlock of her level for the purpose of qualifying for feats and whatnot. Since she has no eldritch blast she may not select eldritch shape or eldritch essence as her invocations.

Invocations: A incantator draw from the same list of invocations as the warlocks. She receive one least level invocation at 1st level, and one additional invocation at each even level as well as two additional invocations at 4th levels and each 4 level thereafter. As warlocks, a incantator she may use her invocations at will. These are spell-like abilities, but unlike normal spell-like abilities they have vocal components, although they lack somatic components. The save DC for invocations are 10 + 1/2 HD + Charisma modifier, and her caster level is equal to her incantator level.

The four grades of invocations in order of their power are least, lesser, greater, and dark. A incantator begins only able to obtain least invocations. As she gain levels, she gets access to lesser, greater, and dark invocations as listed on the table above. At any level a incantator learns a new invocation, she may replace a previous invocation she knows with a different invocation of equal or lower level than the invocation being replaced.

Bonus Feat: At 1st level, 5th and each 5 level thereafter a Incantator gain a single bonus feat she meet the prerequisite of. The bonus feat must be either an [Item Creation] feat, a [Metamagic] feat, Broaden Spell List, Mage Armor, Meta-Invoker, Spell Focus or Talented Invoker (ignoring 1st level only prerequisites).

At 8th level she gain 2 additional uses per day of her incantation surge ability.

At 14th level she may now use her incantation surge at will.

Eldritch Truth (Ex): A 7th level Incantator's Invocation gain a +4 bonus to bypass spell resistance and halves Spell Dampening. She even treat Immunity to Spells as merely as spell resistance equal to the creature's CR + 21.

Dreamworld (Su): A 11th level Incantator is capable of creating a 'dream' which she can live in. She gain access to her new home by creating an anchor point, which can be a door, lamp or other object. The anchor require 24 hours to create and only one may exist at any time.

When the object is activated it transport the creature to the Incantator's dreamworld. The dreamworld is the equivalent of a Mansion and about 1000 feet of land around, floating in a foggy void. The mansion is staffed by 50 unseen servants which maintain the place and keep it tidy, if destroyed the servants immediately reappear and are under the control of the Incantator. The mansion is not furnished by default.

To leave the mansion a creature can simply 'wake up' as a move action, returning her to the anchor even if it was destroyed during her absences. If the area is unsafe the creature simply return to the nearest safe square.

Timeless Body (Ex): A 13th level the Incantator receive Timeless Body as the Druid ability.

True Dark Invocation: Upon attaining 20th level, the Incantator learn an extremely powerful invocation. She must select it from the list below:

Blackest Night: As eclipse and zombie apocalypse, this invocation last 24 hours but you may only have one instance of it at any given time.
Bound Through Space: This Invocation replicate the effect of Greater Teleport at will. If you concentrate on it you may also replicate area teleport with the same casting time.
Chrono Trigger: Upon using this invocation you replicate the effect of time stop except it duration is concentration (maximum 1/round level), after being used this invocation has a cooldown time in minutes equal to the number of round it was active.
