Indigo Surge [Surge, Incarnum] You can use the energy of your soul to make combat surges a little easier to perform.Prerequisites: Con 13, Cha 13, must be able to use combat surges.Benefit: You can invest essentia into combat surges, just as if they were soulmelds. Your essentia capacity per surge is determined by your character level, as described on page 19 of Magic of Incarnum; however, the maximum amount of essentia invested in a combat surge can never be greater than your surge fighter level, regardless of your character level. You can reallocate essentia invested in a combat surge as a swift action. While you have essentia invested in a combat surge, whenever you use that combat surge, you are treated as though you had spent a number of surge points on it equal to the invested essentia, without having to actually spend surge points. However, the total number of surge points spent and essentia points invested in combat surges used for a single action cannot be greater than your surge fighter level.
You gain 1 point of essentia, plus 1 more point for every 2 surge fighter levels (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc.).
Normal: You cannot use essentia as a substitute for surge points.Special: If you have the Bonus Essentia[1] feat, it gives you 2 additional points of essentia, regardless of whether or not you can shape soulmelds.
