Luciferiplasm[edit]

This liquid glows with a golden-white light, and yet is smells faintly of blood.

The produce of alchemists attempting to create a living being made of light, they succeeded at least to binding light in a material form with some biological properties. The initial experiments produces several "organs" and other materials, but none functioned without a steady supply of liquid light which was named luciferiplasm. This substance was born of certain cryptic organic structures and was capable of functioning as a form of blood for the alchemist's growing experiments.

As a substance itself it has several functions which make it useful as an alchemical object. When exposed to oxygen and sunlight is charges and glows, emitting a glow as strong and as long as the light it was exposed to. For typical exposure to sunlight, this results in the light of a candle for one dose, or a torch for 6 doses. It is not uncommon for luciferiplasm to be installed into lanterns as a reusable oil-less lamp that lights up the night. The substance can be painted on objects to make them glow, but unless kept moist they will dry up and become dry white powder after 24 hours (halved in hot dry climates).

A direct hit with the substance deals no damage, but it "paints" the creature as above. Creatures weakened by sunlight are rendered sickened ignoring immunities until the substance is wiped as a move action.

4 doses can cover a single Medium creature (with half, or double, the dosage for larger and smaller creatures for each size category from Medium). When applied on the skin it has the effect of an extraordinary protection from radiation (caster level 1st), with no immediate action usage and lasting for 1 hour or until wiped away through immersion in water for 1 round.

It is said that luciferiplasm is somehow involved in the production of achiralium as a replacement for the hardlight and vitalized livemetal aspects. It's also used as a component of radioactive blood grafts, reducing the Heal check DC by 5 when used.

Luciferiplasm smells as (and counts as) a form of blood, and the smell lasts as long as the substance radiates light and remains moist.
