The paladin was tempted to kick all the puppies while stealing candy from babies, but then the little angel on his figurative shoulder reminded him that those aren't very nice things. Phew, crisis adverted.

You conjure and invisible spirit of the appropriate alignment to aid in your judgment.

For the duration of the spell, the caster is aware of any action or item that could adversely affect his alignment and his standing with his deity, including magical effects. He acquires this information prior to performing such an action or becoming associated with such an item if he takes a moment to contemplate the act.

As a bonus, for the duration of the spell you gain a +2 on saving throws against spells and effects which would compel you to act against your alignment.

When you use this spell to get the advice of a chaotic, evil, good, or lawful spirit, it is a spell of that type.
