Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Orc Paragon.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: The orc paragon is proficient in all simple and martial weapons, all light and medium armor, and all shields.

Berserkergang (Ex): When an orc paragon enters a rage, he may incite the same in all orcs who can see him, allowing them to enter rage as an immediate action even if they have not fulfilled the condition of dealing or receiving damage. In addition, their rage may last as long as the orc paragon’s does even if they do not perform any of the actions normally necessary to maintain it. Should the orc paragon stop raging, the normal actions must be taken by other orcs to continue their respective rages.

In addition, all raging orcs within Close Range of the orc (25 feet + 5 feet/2 levels) gain a +1 bonus to melee damage for every +1d6 Rage Dice the orc paragon possesses.

Mountaineer (Ex): An orc paragon has endured and prospered in the hostile climes in which his race is forced to live. He gains a climb speed equal to one half his base speed.

Orc Weaponry: The orcs favor certain weapons, and the orc paragon is a master of these weapons, gaining additional abilities and benefits for using the following weapons:

  • Battleaxe: You may attempt to execute a prone enemy with a standard action melee attack; if successful, the attack is an automatically confirmed critical hit.
  • Greataxe: Once per round upon hitting an enemy with the greataxe, you may immediately make another attack with the same weapon against a different enemy within your threatened area.
  • Orc Double Axe: You may add bonus damage from Power Attack to the off-hand end of an orc double axe. In addition, as a swift action, you may attack an opponent with the cross of the axe. If the attack is successful, they may choose to either provoke an Attack of Opportunity from nearby allies that threaten them or have your next attack roll against in them in the current turn--if successful--deal maximium damage.
  • Throwing Axe: A successfully thrown throwing axe becomes embedded in the target, causing them to be incur a 5 foot penalty to movement speed while the axe is embedded. The victim can choose to remove the axe as a standard action, but doing so causes them to bleed (taking their Hit Dice in damage) on their next turn. Multiple embedded axes do not accumulate penalties, but all must be removed for the penalty to be purged.

Rage Dice: An orc paragon gains Rage Dice, which function in the exact same fashion as—and stack with—those granted to a barbarian. Other class levels he takes count as ½ for the purposes of gaining Rage Dice; thus, four levels in a class that is not orc paragon or barbarian will grant him +1d6 Rage Dice.

Furious Vigor (Ex): Rage Dice damage dealt by an orc paragon of 2nd level or higher heals him, restoring a number of hit points equal to the damage dealt (this does not apply to any other damage sources applied to the same attack). If the healing exceeds the orc paragon’s normal damage total, he gains temporary hit points instead, up to a maximum of one quarter his maximum hit point total.

Combat Veteran: A 2nd level orc paragon has survived many difficult battles in a society where social advancement and privilege is grounded in combat ability. He has learned enough from these experiences to gain an additional Combat feat from the following list: Blind Fighting, Blitz, Danger Sense, Expert Tactician, Great Fortitude, Horde Breaker, Juggernaut, Monkey Grip, Murderous Intent, Point Blank Shot, Two-Weapon Fighting, Whirlwind.

Warlord: A 3rd level orc paragon is entrusted with a host of orc minions, although his followers are significantly less competent than himself. He gains three followers who are all orcs, each with a number of levels in the Warrior NPC Class equal to one half his character level (rounded down). Any slain followers are automatically replaced three rounds later by identical copies, who appear at the orc paragon’s side at the beginning of the combat round. These followers obey the orc paragon's command and act on the same turn as he does.
