Origin[edit]
The story of how Renatus came to be is a bit vague but each retelling has common elements. Either a prophet, or Renatus itself, arrived upon a falling star and began to speak to the world of the wonders of life. It taught the people medicine, surgery, and biology so that others may live beyond their fated ages and so they may gain the power of the animals and plants about them. Its followers are often fleshcrafters and masters of the body, and it even counts religious psychics amongst them (especially those who specialize in psychometabolism). Though the prophet or god has moved on from the mortal coil its knowledge continues to spread in academic arts concerning the body and its functions.
Rumors that Renatus has much darker origins are heretical lies.
Description[edit]
Renatus is rarely depicted, but when it is most consider Renatus neither male nor female. It is unclear if it is both or neither gender, but such art depicts them as an androgynous humanoid of unnatural skin tone and multiple limbs from various species and creatures, anywhere from four to hundreds of arms, legs, or even heads. The classic depiction is one of two heads, eight arms, and four legs in constant dance. Its holy symbol may be formed into a radiant mandala or halo behind it, representing growth from its nuclear origin.
Dogma[edit]
Renatus is not a god of morality or laws, but rather one of the sanctity of life and the blessings of awareness that life brings. It loves all life, and loves to bring or return life to a state where it can experience, grow, and learn. Some take this that all life must be protected, while others see this as higher state of mind are more valuable than beings with lower states of mind.
Clergy and Temples[edit]
Typically found within the ranks of healers, Renatus also shares its philosophy with psychics who master psychometabolism as well as monks seeking bodily perfection. It is also a favorite of mad fleshcrafters, for through it they are blessed in their grafting arts.
