Sthag Thak is the god of adventurers, thugs, and murderers. He supports the drive to kill others to obtain their goods as the natural order of things in the world. It is not merely enough to call them a deity of theft or murder, for its murder for the sake of theft or thieving after murder which fuels him the most. Unfortunately he would lay claim to many a less scrupulous "adventuring party" even if their alignments do not align, and it is these groups he seeks most to corrupt into murderous bands who kill simply for more items, more power, and more influence.

Origin[edit]

In truth, Sthag Thak is no deity at all, merely a powerful arch-demon from the Abyss. However in his struggles he murdered and robbed his way to the point of stealing a fragment of a divine spark, and thus in his untrue divine state he is capable of granting spells to those who would call out for him. Always desiring more than he has, he seeks true divinity and it is said his manipulations are slowly growing his own power as well.

Description[edit]

It is said Sthag Thak is surprisingly humanoid in shape, with coal black or violet skin cracked with lines of energy across his body, a crown of horns, a face painted red and terrifying, and body armor of warped living iron and flesh which may in fact be part of his body. He often is adorned in several magic items at any one time, and typically uses his magic greatsword Ojukokoro to cleave through his opponents, said to be forged from, or polymorphed from, a dragon whose greed was insatiable. He is sometimes depicted having anywhere from 2 to 6 arms adorned with gear.

His size is said to vary, and it shows within his massive floating castle Fort Avaritia from which he has chained up literal small realms being dragged along behind it. These places were stolen from the prime material and elsewhere and join his ever growing pile of loot from which his heavily fortified castle defends vigorously.

He sometimes goes under the name of "Ramasee", a god of adventuring and good fortune described as a smiling golden figure with a crown of horns. This is a deception, for no such deity exists and only serves to sway more ethical adventurers to the ways of murdering and theft.

Dogma[edit]

"Greed is good. Might makes right. Take what you see fit, as violence is the ultimate judge." He is patron to murderous adventurer groups, thugs, grave robbers, robber barons, and unchecked and unethical businessmen. He believes that if you can wrest goods from others, it is rightfully yours to begin with. This is the way of nature, cruel but promising endless growth. And his followers should pursue growth without end.

There is never enough money, enough power, enough control until you have all of it.

Clergy and Temples[edit]

You would not recognize the clergy and temples of Sthag Thak, but they are everywhere. They are the smoke filled back rooms of politicians, the high rises of businesses, the encampments of adventurers, and the caves of bandits. They look like us, but their blades are bloody literally and figuratively with their victims in their quest for more. Few actively worship, some worship incidentally for good fortune while adventuring, and sometimes cults spring up amongst bandits and others outside of the law or public view. These groups, even when struck deadly blows, seem to have divine luck in repopulating their ranks and returning for there is no end to the greed and murderous lust of mortals.
