[hide]Origin[edit]
Uncertain are the origins of the being known as Teppe, though various figures throughout history have been assigned to them. The trickster, the seducer, the deceiver, and the devil. The key between them all is that in each of these stories a person is visited upon by a supernatural force, but it is they, not Teppe, that sets events into motion of their undoing. Teppe merely provides the path. This evil being has a darker past than merely an evil god. It is said that Teppe is a reflection of a being from the outside looking in, a sort of sentient dream of a mad and evil non-god who will one day awaken, tired of playing with this oddity that is reality, and sweep it all away to start anew. None can be certain, but stories with Teppe do often correspond with other, more eldritch stories and myths.
Description[edit]
Teppe is a shapeshifting figure of shadow, its true form never revealed more than the voice in the dark, sometimes seen with visible mouth and eyes, and sometimes with more mouths or eyes than should be normal or sane. It never appears in such forms however, turning into the charming entertainer or the wizened man in order to work his dark arts. Associated with the colors black and gold, these motifs usually appear on whatever form he happens to wear at the time.
Dogma[edit]
Teppe cares not for worship, yet some madmen still find his utter contempt for order admirable. Teppe views reality as a game, and as any bored gamer sometimes he makes things interesting by destroying, distorting, uplifting, or changing things. There need not be a reason for chaos, the chaos itself is the point. To embrace the nonsense of reality, the insanity of civilization, to do simply to see what happens: that is Teppe's dogma.
Clergy and Temples[edit]
Teppe holds no organized religion, and the mad followers would not dare expose themselves in public. Any worship and clergy is done in secret, privately, and different for every group.
