Lord Eiji's Sky Castle
Conjuration (Creation)
Level: Artifice 9, Sorcerer/Wizard 9
Components: V, S
Casting time: 24 hours
Range: See text
Effect: A flying castle
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

And behold, sayeth the wise Lord Eiji, my gigantic flying house! "UP, UP, AND AWAY!"

This awesome spell allows you to create your own castle or—if you prefer—steal someone else’s. Oh, and it flies. The spell can be used in one of the two ways described below:

  • Creation: You create your own fully fortified castle, complete with crenellations and siege machinery, with maximum dimensions of four 400 foot sides. These dimensions may be adjusted during casting, but once the casting is complete the dimensions are final unless the spell is cast again.
  • Uprooting: This option allows you to take all buildings within a 300 foot radius of yourself and lift them (with foundations intact) from the earth on which they stand. The fortifications (see below) are then created around this area if necessary.

Whichever method was used to create the fortress, the battlements created are as strong as a wall of iron (based off your caster level). Upon completion of the casting, the affected area becomes permanently buoyant, hovering motionlessly in the air unless commanded to move by you. If so commanded, it flies at a speed of 100 feet per round (this speed cannot be increased in any way).

The fortress cannot be brought down by any means short of the direct command of the caster; should the caster die, command of the fortress is inherited by a sentient being of their choice, if any exists. Should the caster not choose a successor, the castle relocates to the nearest available safe location and sets down. Destruction of the castle will also cause it to fall where it is destroyed.
