Martial Scourge

You trade your spellcasting abilities for the abilities to initiate maneuvers. A martial scourge is more battle ready than a normal, using powerful martial maneuvers to tame the forces of death.

Class: Grim

Level: 1st-20th

Replaces: Grim Spellcasting, Scourge Attack, Divine Suffusion, Agile Scourge, Nixing Scourge, Great Scourge

Benefit: A Martial Scourge gain the following class features:

Base Attack Bonus: A Martial Scourge's base attack bonus is equal to her class level, like a Fighter.

Grim's Maneuver: A martial scourge gain Maneuver Known, Maneuver Readied and Stance Known of a WarbladeToB. The martial scourge may only initiate her maneuvers while transformed. Once per turn, a martial scourge may refresh a single maneuver as a free action by spending 1 LP. Alternatively she may spend 1 LP as a full-round action to recover all of her maneuvers. She cannot do both in the same round. A martial scourge has access to the Anima River, Bone Crown, Shadow HandToB and Wild Moon disciplines.

Whenever a martial scourge transforms, she can assume a stance with the same action. A martial scourge does not gain the benefits of any stance while not transformed, unless it benefits from Martial Suffusion (see below).

If a martial scourge select the caster path, she gain Weapon Focus instead of Combat Casting.

Scourge Strike (Ex): A martial scourge does not gain the scourge attack class feature. However for the purpose of Grim's Alteration any attack made as part of a strike counts as a scourge attack. The martial scourge may spend 1 LP to activate any ability which requires a scourge attack, such as Reaper's Sickle. If an alteration relies on the damage of the scourge attack, her effective scourge attack damage is the same as a regular grim of her level.

When a transformed martial scourge initiates a strike, she may spend 1 LP as a free action to deal extra damage equal to her class level against the next creature she attacks with the strike and resolve the attack as a touch attack.

Martial Suffusion (Su): The martial energies that power the grim's maneuvers suffuse itself into the grim's soul, allowing her to initiate maneuvers of a certain level when not transformed. At 5th level, the grim may initiate 1st and 2nd level maneuvers when not transformed. At 9th level, the grim may also initiate 3rd and 4th level maneuvers when not transformed. At 14th level, the grim may do so for 5th and 6th level maneuvers. Finally at 19th level, the grim may initiate 7th and 8th level maneuvers when not transformed.
