Pilgrim Cleric

A cleric who worships its deity by travelling, never at home in life, preparing for its heaven.

Class: Cleric

Prerequisites: Ability to cast cleric spells

Level: 1-20

Replaces: Hit Die, Base Attack Bonus, Class Skills, Weapon and Armor proficiency, modifies Domain and spellcasting

Benefit: The pilgrim cleric gains the following features:

Hit Die: It uses a d6 instead of a d8 as its HD.

Base Attack Bonus: It has a poor BAB.

Class Skills: The pilgrim cleric receives 6 + Int (x4 at 1st level) skill points per level and adds Knowledge (geography), Speak Language and Survival (from the Travel domain) to its class skills.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Pilgrim clerics are proficient with simple weapons and with light armor.

Vow of Voyage: Pilgrims make a vow of never stopping for their entire life. A pilgrim cleric may not remain, voluntarily and consecutively, in the same place (such as a city, mountain, or any other clearly defined area) for more than a month, or it will lose access to its cleric spellcasting, cleric domains and to turn/rebuke undead (but no other cleric class features). It will gain them back if it atone. If it received an order, whether implied or not, from an higher authority of its church, order or faith to remain more than one month in the same place it won't suffer this consequences at least for how long it still carries out the order.

Endurance: A pilgrim cleric at 1st level gain the feat Endurance for free. By level 5th its bonus against fatigue applies also to environmental hazards of the Material Plane. By level 10th it also applies to any planar hazards.

Domain: Pilgrim clerics are often associated with deity of travel. They gain, in addition to their two domains, the Travel domain as a third domain, working exactly like the other two (substitute teleport with warp and greater teleport with greater warp).

Spellcasting: A pilgrim cleric adds the following spells to its spell list:

  • 2nd - Easy trailSpC, lively stepSpC, swift hasteSpC, Tern's persistenceSto;
  • 4th - Ethereal mountSpC, lay of the landSpC, wind at backSpC;
  • 5th - Mass longstriderPHBII;
