As you cast this spell a pale green oval surrounds you. Just in time, as it absorbs the blow from the incoming giant's boulder crashing into you!
A bubble of force appears around you which will negate a single incident of damage, no matter the severity of the attack. It only functions against things which deal hit point damage, other status effects proceed as normal as if you were damaged. Once it absorbs the blow the spell ends.
You gain an extra layer of protection at caster level 6th and every five caster levels beyond. The number of layers remaining is visible and obvious to observers. If you perform actions which deal damage while in a safety bubble, each attack strips off a layer (though your attack still goes through) as it strikes your own bubble.
