Table Flip
Transmutation [Earth]
Level: Druid 8, Ki Master 8, Shugenja (Earth) 8, Wu Jen (Earth) 8
Components: V, S, M
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Area: A cube up to 5 ft square/two caster levels.
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Reflex partial
Spell Resistance: No

The ground lifted up, and topsoil became bottom.

You select a square of land up to 5 ft square per two caster levels (minimum 5 ft square) and the ground lifts up and turns over, burying creatures under 10 feet of earth and dealing 1d6 points of bludgeoning damage per caster level unless they succeed on a Reflex save, in which case they take half damage and are pushed to one end of the cube (caster's choosing, all creatures are pushed to the same end of the cube). Large and smaller creatures which have been buried cannot speak or breath, and because the ground is packed tight they have difficulty digging themselves free. They can free themselves with a Strength check DC 25. Allies can help dig them out as well. In 1 round of digging with hands they can dig down 1 foot, or twice as much with a shovel or other tool, and the Strength DC to break free decreases by 2 for every foot removed. Buried creatures take 1d6 nonlethal damage every minute, but they are much more likely to suffocate before then.

Huge and larger creatures are only partly buried, rendering them immoble but still able to breathe and act. For each size category greater than Large, the Strength DC to remove themselves decreases by 2. In both cases, digging oneself out is a full round action.

If this spell is cast on sand or another very granular surface, the DC to dig oneself out decreases by 5.

Some druids use this spell not for offensive means, but as an easy way to till the soil for crops.

Material Component: A 100 gp model of a table made of mahogony. Maaaahogony.
