In need of a rating[edit]

While unnecessary, I would like for some of my articles to have ratings. The articles that I find ready for said endeavour are as follows: Sith/ Jedi (3.5e Class), Viveka Spectre (3.5e Prestige Class), and Uongo-mijusi (3.5e Race)(and some of its sub-pages). Then again, you may find some or all of those mentioned to be unworthy of your rating. In which case any advice would be most appreciated. Thank you --Franken Kesey 01:08, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Category:User:Rithaniel[edit]

This category can be replaced by SMW. I'm just wondering, since you have so many articles, if you want it replaced by a NavBox or just have the template removed? --Havvy 05:24, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Uh, I wanna keep my category. Will the wiki crash if I do that or something? → Rith (talk) 23:52, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Crash no, but well...link. Unless the category has extra significance outside the fact you are the author, it can be replaced with a template or a link. --Havvy 08:49, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
It's more sentimental value, honestly, as strange as that sounds. I just don't want to delete or replace the thing. It's my category. → Rith (talk) 02:31, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
<Ganteka>: Allowing 1 user to have a user category is precedent for allowing all users to have a user category, which is counter to the purpose of removing un-needed categories
I talked to Rith a while back, and he said he had the category so the stuff could show up on his user page in category format, using DPL (because Semantic MediaWiki didn't support it at the time). Now that Semantic MediaWiki supports it, I'm sure he'll have no problem with removing his category. Surgo 05:01, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
I realize this, Surgo. Put I'm not backing off on this. It has no relevance to anyone or anything if categories are used or if semantic is used. Or if they are used in conjunction with each other. I am going to keep my category and use Semantic at the same time, any further discussion on the matter is a waste of my time, your efforts, and a talk page. Get over it. The wiki will not crash if I have my category, so there, no harm done. → Rith (talk) 05:07, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
I don't see why you're throwing a temper tantrum over this. Our plan is to use categories as a navigation scheme with one of the category navigation extensions (possibly Semantic Drilldown if I can enhance it), which is something user categories make very messy. For that reason, we are removing user categories. They were used when we couldn't pull pages with Semantic MediaWiki in every format that DPL could -- but now we can. Surgo 05:14, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Not a temper tantrum, dude. More akin to a 'stop poking me already' shout. I already asked if the wiki would crash if I kept my category. The answer was a 'no'. Now, I don't remember being asked if I wanted to go with Semantics or normal categories. I've personally got dial-up, and some of the drop-down boxes and everything involved in Semantic bog down my connection and it's still, in my opinion, easier for a new user to just follow the normal trees of pages to find something they want, or through categories. In any case, you can just work around my category. If there's a mechanical issue somewhere with that (read: crash), you can explain it in lamens terms, instead of using wiki technobabble. This isn't exactly a big deal, either way. → Rith (talk) 05:25, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Put {{#ask: [[Author::Rithaniel]] |format=category}} on a user page, such as User:Rithaniel/Allpages. It is functionally your category done without your category. It would take slightly less time than the link given above, and the fact that you wouldn't need a user category would save space on the wiki (though disc space is cheap) and bandwidth in the fact that you don't need to load the category link every page load. --Havvy 05:44, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Surgo explained to me on AIM what the deal is. I'm fine with you deleting my category (though I'm not quite happy about it, since it got all built up in my mind), and I'll find my own way of linking my articles together. Sorry for the commotion. → Rith (talk) 10:10, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Havvy put together a NavBox template that's been added to every homebrew page. If you still want something like a category to tie together your articles, you might consider making one like so. If you create one, it should show up at the bottom of all of your pages. --DanielDraco (talk) 01:56, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
Rith don't come round no more.
But seriously, I try to get him back, and he lurks, but he's not really here. Double-plus so since the guy is, at time of posting, actually devoid of a computer for a bit time more. Anyway, I imagine he wouldn't mind. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 04:44, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Threat ACF[edit]

I responded to your comment on my Threat ACF, I changed some things around, anyway go have a look.--Stryker 12:50, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Ratings Update[edit]

Following the recent wiki vote on ratings granularity and display, all old ratings can be updated to make use of "love / like / neutral / dislike / hate" instead of the old values. If you would like to update your ratings, you can find a list of them at Category:Legacy Rating Rithaniel. When you update a rating, be sure to delete the "|OldRating=True" part. - Tarkisflux Talk 18:11, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Strong Grip[edit]

Why is the feat not original? (What WotC material does the same thing?) What constitutes FA material, if not the fact that people like it and think the material is good? Are you seriously giving it a low rating just because you don't want to see it favored? What would need to be changed for it to become better in your opinion? --Ghostwheel (talk) 18:57, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

Entropic Wanderer and Thief Of Hours - May I?[edit]

Hello! Zhen here. I'm recently come up with a lot of ideas concerning time-based classes and wondered if I may use your Time Walker for a base (As well as Aeon Walker, Moment Breaker and Temporal Dancer for inspiration).

The first idea is an Entropic Wanderer prestige class, which combines the Time Walker with Eiji-Kun's Gate Knight in a theurge-like manner.

The second is the Thief Of Hours, a time-shaping monk who uses The Way Of The Clock to find enlightenment.

The reason I'm asking is mostly due to the Thief Of Hours, which I had hoped could also have the Temporal Strike ability of the Time Walker and thus be able to qualify for Aeon Walker, Moment Breaker and Temporal Dancer. I had thought it would be respectful, and decided to go ahead and ask about the Entropic Wanderer while I was here. I've already asked Eiji and am awaiting a response from you both.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.~ Zhenra-Khal (talk) 20:21, 22 April 2017 (MDT)
