This towering muscular demon ripples with power, its boney skull like face lost amidst a sea of ghostly unnatural flames which erupt from its neck and around vents and holes at its body. Wrapped in this eldritch energy, it seems like its own energy threatens to tear itself apart.
Powerful outsiders full of magical energy, these "demons" are not actually true demons. They are one of the ancient chaotic beings which fought against the Air Lords of Aqaa in ages long past, alongside their obyrith kin. In these ages, they were beings of pure chaotic energy with no form. Perhaps as a requirement to fight against their material opponents, or perhaps as punishment for their loss, they were consigned to material fleshy bodies resembling that of fiendish bulky humanoids. Their flesh is a cage which barely contains them, and their inner fire roars in protest against it even in combat.
These creatures see the world of matter as a mistake, and seek to return all matter into energy. However, even they are self aware they are in no position to bring about such an apocalypse. Instead they are satisfied with bringing about destruction, decay, ruin, chaos, and entropy to the world. The destruction of something here and there may be minor, but eventually the whole thing will unravel with time. After all, entropy is winning (and even if it wasn't either extreme spells destruction), and they are surprisingly patient for "demons".
Most live in Pandemonium, churning up the winds into more and more energetic states of being. Others can be found in the Abyss or Limbo, seeking to dissolve what exists.
Energy Demons are about 10 ft tall and weigh a surprisingly light 200 lbs. They speak Abyssal, Celestial, and Infernal.
The energy demon has a host of immunities, and is healed by various forms of energy. It often uses its own spells with it as a possible target so it may heal while others are hurt. They particularly like changing the terrain to their advantage, especially when it involves destroying said terrain. They reserve their Apocalypse spell-like for things which simply won't die, or to wipe out a large area of matter all at once.
Absorb Energy (Ex): The energy demon is not only immune to, but actually heals from, the more raw forms of energy damage. They absorb half the damage from any force, negative, positive, or untyped magical damage (such as a warlock's normal eldritch blast) as healing instead.
In addition it can touch an object which is powered by one of the above energy types, electricity, fire, or sonic energy and drain it of its power, rendering it inert (though this does not heal the energy demon). The object's power source can be restarted manually, or it returns to normal function after 1d4 rounds if it runs continuously. The object gets a Will save DC 27 to resist, and the save is Charisma based.
Apocalypse (Sp): 1/day, the energy demon can use a unique spell-like ability known as Apocalypse. It releases a titanic explosion of magical energy, duplicating the effect of disintegrate in a 20 ft radius burst, DC 25. This is considered a 7th level spell and is Charisma based. Caster level 13th.
Counter (Ex): Any time the energy demon is attacked in melee, it has a 50% chance of countering this attack with an attack of its own. This is an attack of opportunity.
Death Throes (Ex): When the energy demon dies, it explodes into a 10 ft radius explosion of raw energy, dealing 80 points of untyped magic damage to all creatures in the area, with a DC 25 Reflex save for half. The saving throw is Constitution based.
Energy Miasma (Ex): The energy demon is always surrounded by a bright aura of magical energy. Any creatures within 5 ft of it take 5 untyped magic damage a round, no save. It can suppress this aura as a non-action.
Immunities (Ex): The Energy Demon is immune to damage from Light, Electricity, Fire, and Sonic damage. It is also immune to Disease, Poison, Polymorphing, and Petrification.
Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): At will-chaos blaze (DC 19), chaos hammer (DC 22), dispel law, entropic shield, magic missile, shatter (DC 20); 3/day-White Flare (DC 24), wild teleport; 1/day-awesome light (DC 21), confusion (DC 22), cure critical wounds, host to madness (DC 23), inflict critical wounds (DC 22), mass cure light wounds, mass inflict light wounds (DC 23). The saving DC is Charisma based. Caster level 13th.
