Class Features[edit]
All of the following are class features of the Bone Rider.
Spellcasting: A Bone Rider cast divine spells spontaneously, using her Wisdom or Charisma modifier to determine her bonus spell per day, the highest spell she can cast and the DCs of her spell, chosen when she first take level in the class. She do not have spell known unlike most spontaneous casters, instead she cast directly from the list below:
1st— bane, bone spurs, cause fear, chill touch, corpse puppet, creeping darkness, darkness, death's door, deathwatch, disrupt undead, doom, dust to dust, inflict wounds, lesser animate dead, paranoia haunt, ray of enfeeblement, unseen servant.
2nd— bolt of bones, command undead, crushing despair, dark seeker, deeper darknesss, desecrate, false life, gaseous form, malevolent touch, vampiric touch, vile strike, voodoo doll.
3rd— bestow curse, bone shape, curse of misfortune, dimension door, life support, greater dispel magic, remove curse.
4th— gravehorde, greater vampiric touch, magic jar, plane shift, slay living.
Mount the Dead (Su): You gain the ability to summon a powerful undead mount as a full-round action, appearing adjacent to you. The mount serve for as long as you wish and can be summoned an unlimited amount of times per day. However the mount retain any damage dealt to it between summoning, and if it destroyed it cannot be summoned for 24 hours and return with 1 hit points. The mount can be dismissed as a move action. The mount gain the benefit of a Paladin's Mount, using your character level as your paladin level.
The mount has either the Simple Skeleton or Simple Zombie template and must be a Heavy War Horse, Riding Board or Riding Bull. Unlike a normal skeleton or zombie they fully retain all their special quality and attacks. Alternatively the rider may select a Bonedrake as a mount, although she count as 2 level lower for the purpose of it benefits if she does so.
The mount's newfound Intelligence grant it feats and skills as normal. If you selected the Heavy War Horse, Riding Board or Riding Bull they gain the movement ability of a phantom steed with a caster level equal to your character level. If you select the Bonedrake it breath weapon deal 1d4 damage per extra hit dice it receive.
The mount is considered to be a summoned creature, any effects except damage do not persist between multiple summoning.
Partial Class Advancement: When you take your first Bone Rider level, choose a single class. Bone Rider levels count along with this class to determine class-level based benefits. For example, a spellcaster improves his caster level, a bard gets more bardic music attempts, and a warblade's initiator level increases normally. You can select a class you have yet to take (but gain no benefit until you actually take at least one level of that class). This ability does not grant you spells known, new bardic songs, maneuvers, or similar benefits which are improved by taking actual levels of a class.
Deadly Touch (Su): A 2nd level Bone Rider can deliver a charge of negative energy with a touch as a standard action, dealing 1d8 + her Charisma or Wisdom modifier in negative energy damage with a touch attack. This is negative energy and thus heal undead.
Bonus Feat: At 3rd and 5th level, the Bone Rider gain a single bonus [Fighter] feat or a feat which has Mounted Combat as a prerequisite.
Speed of the Dead (Su): At 3rd level the boner rider's mount gain a +10' enhancement bonus to it speed per class level. Additionally the bone rider replicate the effect of shadow walk while riding her mount in a straight line for at least 5 rounds. The effect immediately end when the Bone Rider dismount her mount.
Undead Summoner (Sp): A 4th level Bone Rider can cast summon undeadLM as a spell-like ability a number of time per day equal to 1 + her Charisma modifier. Her caster level is equal to her character level and she may cast up the the highest version allowable by her caster level (summon undead V at caster level 9th, summon undead VI at 11th, etc).
Undying Bond (Ex): At 5th level the Bone Rider's lifeforce is bound to it undead mount. As long as her mount is summoned and the bone rider is alive both gain fast healing 2, or increase their current fast healing by 1, whichever is higher.
Everlasting Loyalty: At 6th level, the Bone Rider's undead mount is no longer destroyed at 0 hit points, instead it become inanimate. After 1 round, it will rise from destruction at half hit points. It perish properly if destroyed by a holy weapon. This ability only function while the bone rider is alive and within long range of the Undead Mount.
Alternate Class Features[edit]
Spellcasting Advancement: Instead of granting spellcasting by itself, levels in Bone Rider advance arcane or divine spellcasting at every level beside the first. If the Bone Rider choose partial or minor spellcasting to be advance then it is also advanced at the first level.
Sublime Rider: Instead of granting spellcasting, levels in Bone Rider increase initiator level fully, including granting access to new maneuver known, readied and stance known. She can share stances with her mount and initiate [Rush] type maneuver through it as long as she is mounted.
