Psionics Full


A Psyhexer is a psionic witch, who instead of relaying on patrons or otherworldly power has embraced the power of psionic crystals. They can appear as stereotypical witches, however some of of them are more druid-like, embracing nature over devils and other strange beings. Their ability grant them hexes, much like the Patron Witch, however they possess powers instead of spells and lack a familiar and patron.

Making a Psyhexer[edit]

A Psyhexer is a versatile manifester, able to change some of their power each morning. They possess strong debuffing abilities with their hexes as well as a generous power selection. Their main strength include mind control and divination, although they are capable of learning a few blasting powers.

Abilities: A Psyhexer's main ability score is Charisma.

Races: The Psyhexer is not a common classes in any particular races, although they tend to come from races with psionic potential.


Starting Gold: As Wizard.

Starting Age: Complex.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Psyhexer .

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Psyhexers are proficient with the club, dagger, heavy crossbow, light crossbow, quarterstaff, and shortspear. They are not proficient with any type of armor or shield. Armor does not, however, interfere with the manifestation of powers.

Power Points/Day: A Psyhexer’s ability to manifest powers is limited by the power points he has available. Her base daily allotment of power points is given on Table: Psyhexer. In addition, he receives bonus power points per day if she has a high Charisma score (see Table: Ability Modifiers and Bonus Power Points). Her race may also provide bonus power points per day, as may certain feats and items.

Powers Known: A Psyhexer begins play knowing three Psyhexer powers of your choice. Each time she achieves a new level, she unlocks the knowledge of new powers. Unlike a Psion she has some extra restriction on her power known, one of her power known is a regular power known while the other two are "Hexing Powers". Her Hexing Powers can only be selected from special power in her power list (marked with an Hex), however they can be changed for other hexing powers of any level the Psyhexer can manifest whenever she regain her power points for the day. A Psyhexer can pick marked power as regular power known, however she cannot change them. A Psyhexer only has two "Hexing Powers" and gain regular power known from henceforth. A Psyhexer choose their powers from the following list:

Maximum Power Level Known: This column determines the highest level power a Psyhexer can learn at this level.

To learn or manifest a power, a Psyhexer must have an Charisma score of at least 10 + the power’s level.

Psionic Crystals (Ex): A Psyhexer draw her energy from psionically charged crystals, without them she is unable to draw out her full potential. A Psyhexer require 50 gp worth of crystals per manifester level in order to fully recover her power points, if she does not have enough she recover only half of her daily power point allotments. She usually possess a catalyst made of mundane or deep crystal, such as a staff to fulfill that requirement.

Hex: A Psyhexer learns a number of special curses and ability, that usually allow her to weaken her foes but can be quite versatile. At 1st level, 2nd level and each even-numbered level thereafter, the Psyhexer learns an hex. A Psyhexer cannot select a hex more than once unless noted otherwise. Using a hex is a standard action that doesn’t provoke an attack of opportunity unless otherwise noted. The saving throw DC to resist a hex is equal to 10 + 1/2 class level + the Psyhexer’s Charisma modifier. A Psyhexer choose from the Patron Witch List and the following list of hexes.

Becursed Crystal: You gain the Psicrystal Affinity feat as a bonus feat. This psicrystal behave as your familiar for the purpose of interacting with hexes.

Extra Hexing Power: You gain an extra Hexing Power known. It behave like a normal hexing power, which include limited power selection and the ability to change it.

Hexing Mastery: Choose three powers from the Psyhexer's list, they all gain the Hex tag allowing them to be selected as hexing powers.

Brew Potion: A 2nd level Psyhexer gain Brew Potion as a bonus feat,. If she already possess it she may take another [Item Creation] feat which she meet the prerequisite of instead.

Witching: A Psyhexer is capable of replicating many spells through her psionic powers, at 5th level she may expend her psionic focus and 5 power points to replicate the effect of bestow curse.

At 9th level she may spend her psionic focus and 9 power points to replicate the effect of baleful polymorph.

At 15th level she may spend her psionic focus and 15 power points to replicate the effect of greater bestow curseSpC.

At 19th level she may spend her psionic focus and 17 power points to replicate the effect of cursed one.

The spells replicated by this power count as powers for all intent and purpose, however since they do not appear on the the Psyhexer's list they cannot be selected by feat such as Expanded Knowledge. They do not require material components or focuses.

Mental Glamour (Su): A 3rd level Psyhexer is constantly shrouded in a telepathic field, which allow her to alter her appearance. At first she may only affect her clothes, allowing her to change the style or type of clothes she wear as a move action. These clothes do not truly exist and thus do not provide any protection against the elements, thus hazardous in cold or hot weather unless she wear another pair of clothes "underneath". She may even make herself appear as if she was wearing armor. The telepathic signal is powerful enough to affect creatures who are immune to mind-affecting effect, but not mindless creatures. The field is mostly dependent on whether or not the Psyhexer believe it, if she forget she possess such ability (such as being made unconscious or amnesia) it immediately stop working. Since it a telepathic effect, it fool even true seeing.

At 7th level she is able to alter her own appearance, within limits. She can replicate the effect of disguise self at-will, however since it is dependent on her self-perception she can only maintain it for a number of minute equal to her class level, after which her disguise immediately vanish and cannot be re-assumed for 1 hour.

At 11th level she become capable of altering her day to day appearance, she can make herself appear younger or older, or change her proportion within limit of her size. This way a thin venerable 5'1 witch may make herself appears as a curvy 6'0 young adult version of herself. She is however unable to change truly how she look, and creature who know her are usually capable of recognizing her. She can change how she look as a full-round action, or dismiss the effect as a free action.

Telepathy (Su): A 8th level Psyhexer gain Telepathy out of 10 feet per class level. This form of telepathy does not grant the ability to communicate or understand a creature whose language you do not know.

Major Hex: Starting at 10th level, and every two levels thereafter, a Psyhexer can choose a major hex whenever she could select a new hex.

Greater Mental Glamour (Su): At 13th level a Psyhexer's mental glamour actually change her in some ways. Any clothes or armor she create actually count as real, allowing her to create cold survival gears for cold weather and whatnot. If she wear any armor made by her mental glamour she count as actually wearing a mundane version of that armor, with all bonuses and penalties associated with such thing. Finally if she make herself appear another age than she is, she count as that age for the purpose of aging penalty (but not bonuses).

Crystal Sage (Ex): At 14th level, the Psyhexer has imbued enough energy from the crystal that she can imbue her power with them. As a free action she may cover any items she wield with crystals, making them count as being made of Deep Crystal in addition to it original material. The crystals harmlessly break off 1 round after she the item leave her hands and do not count as crystals for the purpose of Psionic Crystals.

Immortality (Ex): At 17th level, a Psyhexer no longer has a maximum age, and will no longer die of old age.

Grand Hex: Starting at 18th level, and every two levels thereafter, a Psyhexer can choose a grand hex whenever she could select a new hex.

Telepathic Projection (Su): A 20th level Psyhexer managed to learn how to project herself over extremely long distances. She can create a telepathic image of herself which act similarly as the project image over the course of a 1 round action. While she does so she act through the image, she is unable to take any action with her body until she dismiss the effect. She can manifest the image anywhere without need of line or sight of effect, however it has the same miss chance as the teleport spell. She see and hear through the telepathic image and the image count as herself for the purpose her telepathy and mental glamour ability. She may even manifest power and use abilities through the projection as if she was there. The image can also attack and be attacked, it is not able to use any magic items you possess, however it still benefits from passive magic item you currently wear. The image has no duration, it persist as long as the Psyhexer concentrate, however after projecting herself she must wait an hour before doing so again.

Since it is essentially a telepathic projection of you, it possess the same statistic as you. However it possess the Incorporeal subtype and is a mental glamor effect. It is unable to affect mindless creatures or objects at all, being only a mental projection. It is also anchored to the spot it was summoned to and vanish if it moved 50 feet beyond it arrival square.

The Psyhexer may dismiss the projection as a standard action, receiving all the damage dealt to the projection as non-lethal damage. If she is immune to non-lethal damage she instead receive half the damage dealt to the projection. No status effect done to the image carry over to the Psyhexer. If the image is destroyed the Psyhexer take 5 negative level who vanish automatically within 24 hours without resulting in level loss, these levels cannot be cured beforehand and never result in her death.
